THE BURSARY PROGRAM
The Karren Stinson Bursary Fund is directed and administered by a Committee consisting of
members or former members of Lutheran Church of the Cross, serving as chair, treasurer, and
secretary as well as one member from the Board of Educationand several members-at-large.
The bursary program seeks to make an award to deserving students in pursuit of a post-
secondary degree or diploma. The amount of the award will be $1000 based upon funds available.
The award will be made on an annual basis, and recipients are eligible to re-apply in subsequent
years.

ELIGIBILITY
Although theCommitteewill make necessary judgments in all cases, the following general criteria will
apply to this award:

A.Applicants mustbe enrolled in full-time or part-timepost-secondary studies.
B.Applicants must be Canadian citizensor have Permanent Resident status with a Social
Insurance Number(SIN).Please be advised that the SIN of the successful candidate(s) is
required by the Canada Revenue Agency for income tax purposes.
C.Applicants must be active members of Lutheran or Anglican congregations and have a
permanent address in Western Canada(Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia,
and the Yukon) to be considered for this bursary.
D.The following criteria will be given equal consideration by the Committee:

➢Christian Activities
➢Financial Need
➢Participation in community and church related activities
➢Preparation for acareer in the field ofsocial services, education, ordained ministry or
related church vocation
