The Basilicata Cultural Society of Canada’s mission is "to Preserve and promote the Culture and the Customs of our Land of Origin". We trust these scholarships will go a long way in achieving our goal.

Since our inception we have been awarding scholarships to students whose families are of Basilicata origins. The goal of these scholarships is to provide students with an opportunity to discover their roots and to learn the history of their forefathers as well as to provide the winners with financial support towards the continuation of their studies. Although we do not monitor how they use those funds, we hope the financial assistance will be used to discover their ancestor’s land of origin.

We make every effort in awarding two scholarships of $2,000 each every year. These scholarships are made possible through the generous donations from our community. Over time our good deeds have not gone unnoticed. As a result of the transparency and fairness of our process in selecting the recipients, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Toronto have co-sponsored one of the scholarships.
