Who Can Apply for a Scholarship?

Previous KCSF scholarship recipients are not eligible.

You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a Visa student.

You must be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary school during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Only first-year undergraduate students are eligible for First-Year Scholarships. Upper Year Scholarships are open to any student who meets the criteria listed above and has completed at least one full academic year at a post-secondary school in Canada or abroad.

The required supporting documents are:

a. Proof of full-time registration for the 2021-2022 academic year at a post-secondary institution.

b. Official Transcripts - for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years from all former and current post-secondary institutions (whether a degree was granted or not) or high school. Note: transcripts must be official transcripts or they will not be accepted.

c. 2 to 3 Reference Letters - one reference letter from your school is mandatory, and one letter from your place of employment and/or one letter from your volunteer/leadership organization would be ideal. Reference letters must be from people that have direct knowledge of your character, ability, attitude, potential and future aspirations. Reference letters from family, friends and relatives are not appropriate and will not be considered. If your referee prefers to submit a reference letter directly to KCSF, you will have the opportunity to provide your referee’s email address on the application website, and your referee will receive instructions on how to submit his or her reference letter.

d. Resume (maximum 2 pages) - outline your education, work experience, extra-curricular activities and other accomplishments.

e. Essay - all applicants must submit an essay at the application website.
