DCWorks Program and the (International student) IWorks Program

Earn money this academic year through the on-campus DCWorks/IWorks program!

The DCWorks/IWorks program is designed to assist full-time students who are anticipating or experiencing financial difficulties by providing them with part-time employment on campus. Funding is provided by Durham College. The program runs from September to April each year. Each job offers a maximum of 12 hours per week to a maximum of 140 hours per semester.

  • Am I eligible?

    DCWorks, a student may be required to meet the following requirements:

    • Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident and meet the Ontario Residency requirements as defined by OSAP
    • Must demonstrate financial need
    • Returning DC Students must have a full-time student term G.P.A of 2.0 from their previous term to meet the academic requirement
    • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 60 per cent of a full-time course load in a post-secondary program at Durham College
    • To apply student must complete a Durham College Student Financial Profile for the current academic school year

    IWorks program:

    • Must be an international student
    • Must hold a valid Study Permit
    • Must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program with a full-time course load
    • Must maintain a GPA of 2.0 to remain eligible for the program (GPA will be reviewed at time of application and before the start of each new semester) 
  • How to apply?
    • To apply for a part time job on campus, you must be approved to participate in the DCWorks or IWorks Program.  To apply for the program, go to MyCampus > DC Financial Aid Self-Service and follow these steps:
      • Under the DC Financial Aid tab, locate DC Financial Aid Self-Service
      • Click on Start My Application
      • Click on Apply for Student Aid
      • Select the Aid Year
      • Click Continue
      • Select Durham College Work Study Program or International Work Study Program
      • Complete and Submit the appropriate application
    • Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email to your DCmail advising you whether or not you have been approved for the program.  Your approval email permits you to begin submitting resumés to prospective employers.
    • To search and apply for jobs, go to the Hired Portal at: https://hired.durhamcollege.ca/home.htm
      • Login: Students and Recent Grads
      • MyCampus login and MyCampus password required
      • Click ‘Work Study Jobs’
      • Click ‘Work Study Job listings’
      • Click ‘View All Available Postings’

    • Congratulations on being offered an On-Campus position! Here are some of your responsibilities:
      • Understand and meet the terms of employment
      • Fulfill job requirements
      • Inform the Financial Aid & Awards office of changes in work program status

    Durham College Employees are required to complete all the training provided in the links below to meet the legal requirements. The training includes topics such as Accessibility Standards, WHMIS and the new Workplace Violence and Harassment training. This category will also list legal updates to keep employees informed on information that may pertain to our organization. Please note that some training listed may only pertain to certain staff, please read the descriptions to find out if a particular training will pertain to your role.

    To access the modules, please use the weblinks listed below and login using your Banner identification number (starts with ‘1’) and your postal code. Once you have completed a module, an update will be automatically logged into the Human Resources’ training records on Banner.

    If you have previously been employed by Durham College and have already completed the above listed training modules, you are not required to take the modules again.
