DC students can now access course software and hardware remotely

This message is being sent on behalf of Janse Tolmie, associate vice-president, Information Technology. Inquiries should be directed to the IT Service Desk at 905.721.3333.

With numerous programs offered remotely this fall, Durham College (DC) is committed to providing accessible and innovative support services that will enhance your academic experience so you can be successful this semester. DC has launched two technology tools so students can access software and hardware remotely.

SplashTop

Using SplashTop’s computer connectivity tool, you will be able to access the more powerful machines and complex software found in specialized labs on DC’s campuses from any remote location. Students in specific courses who are authorized to use SplashTop will receive further information from their instructors after classes begin.

DC Apps

DC Apps, powered bv AppsAnywhere, is a new web-based app hub that will allow you to run course-specific software using any Windows computer from anywhere. Available to all DC students, DC Apps supports subject mastery by providing the flexibility for limitless exploration and practice without the need to be on campus.
