Are you thinking about what comes next after graduation or considering a summer job in your chosen field? Perhaps you’d like to begin networking with future employers or learn how to get your foot in the door?

We want to help prepare you for your future this winter with career-focused activities at Durham College’s (DC) Gear Up to Get Hired events and Winter Job Fairs.

From Monday, January 27 to Friday, January 31, you’ll have the opportunity to attend workshops and sessions that will cover how to create a personal pitch, resume writing techniques, job fair success strategies, using LinkedIn and more. You can then put your newfound skills to the test during DC’s Winter Job Fairs at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses:

• Job Fair, Oshawa campus – Tuesday, February 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
• Job Fair, Whitby campus – Thursday, February 6from 2 to 4 p.m. in the atrium and main hallways.

DC will be hosting more than 100 employers who are looking for your skills, so be sure to register on the Hired Portal today. You’ll also receive event reminders and be entered to win a gift card to the Oshawa Centre (to help you score a new outfit for that interview you’re about to land!).
