Dr. John D. Morgan Student Scholarship
The Bereavement Ontario Network is pleased to offer
The John D. Morgan Memorial Student Conference Scholarship
named in memory of Dr. Morgan who died in the spring of 2005.
Dr. Morgan touched the lives of many of his colleagues and students and gave generously of his time to the Bereavement Ontario Network along with his many pursuits in death education.
We are pleased to honour Dr. Morgan's memory with a student scholarship to our upcoming virtual conference held October 14-29, 2021. The successful candidate will receive full registration for the conference and a one-year membership to the Bereavement Ontario Network.
Anyone who is enrolled in a course or program in grief and bereavement or a related field (fulltime or part-time) is eligible for this award.
Deadline for applications is September 30, 2021

Applications must be received on or before September 30, 2021.
Contents of application must include:
1/ Cover Letter
- name, address, telephone number and email address - student status - full/part-time, graduate/undergraduate
- name of post-secondary institution including brief description of program and/or course
- letter of recommendation from a professor familiar with your interest/work in grief and bereavement
2/ Essay
- a paper or project which has been submitted as part of your current course work (Sept. 2020 - June 2021) in the field of grief and bereavement.
- Don’t forget to check spelling, formatting and to include references.
CALL FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS
BON’s 31st Annual Conference - The Grief Waves- COVID Challenges in Grief and Supporting Others and Ourselves in Future Waves
Online October 12-29, 2021
The conference committee is seeking submissions from academics and from professionals in the field of bereavement, grief support and end-of-life care for a virtual presentation of their poster in a breakout room provided during the conference.
Submissions will be received until September 30, 2020.
If you have a research study, or an excellent care program you’ve developed and would like to share it with the Bereavement Ontario Network community, we welcome your poster presentation! Poster presentations will be held in 15 minutes timeslots in an online breakout room solely provided for that purpose.

Our aim is to provide conference participants with informative, interesting poster presentations on current research topics in end-of-life, bereavement, grief support and examples of programs for providing excellent care.
