NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON MAY 3: MusiCounts Scholarship Program
Canadian postsecondary institutions are invited to nominate students for the MusiCounts Scholarship Program. This annual post-secondary scholarship program will help launch the careers of 4-6 high-potential individuals who are close to graduating from post-secondary studies in music. Recipients will receive:
- A $4000 financial award.
- A five-day intensive mentorship and networking experience in Toronto, all expenses paid. Throughout the week, scholarship recipients will have the unique opportunity to connect with and learn from established professionals in the music industry. For a timetable of last year's Mentorship Week as well as a list of mentors that were involved, please click here.
Who Can Be Nominated: Each post-secondary institution in Canada can nominate up to 3 students enrolled in music studies (degree, diploma or certificate) who intend to pursue a career in one of the following career streams: music performance, music production/recording arts, or music business. Institutions can nominate one student per stream. Typically, the institution's Head of Music or department administrators will submit the nominations.
When & How: Post-secondary institutions will nominate students by May 3, 2019. Once all nominations are cast, all nominees will be prompted to complete an online application, which is due on June 7, 2019. Recipients will be determined by early July 2019. The Mentorship Week will take place in Toronto between September 30 and October 4, 2019.
