James Lee Foundation Scholarship

Award Name/Title: James Lee Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $5,000

Application Status: Closed

Application Due Date: September 15, 2016

Awards Details:

In 2007, the JLF Scholarship was established to honour the creative legacy and spirit of the late James Lee. This scholarship is open to emerging non-professional creative talent from across Canada who is passionate about advertising and looking to explore the industry. The annual Scholarship is intended to recognize and help a promising, aspiring talent to do their best work. Ultimately, the award will be given to an up-and-coming “creative rebel” – someone who’s driven to do things differently and has a passion for their craft.

A scholarship of a minimum $5,000 will be awarded on the basis of the portfolio that demonstrates the most original thinking and craftsmanship according to a judging panel made up of representatives from the JLF’s founding member advertising agencies as well as James Lee's family.

Fittingly, all fields relating to the advertising industry will be considered for the award including writers, art directors, film makers, recording artists, illustrators, photographers and digital artists. Portfolio submissions will be accepted online from August 1 through September 15, 2016. The portfolio judging will be completed by September 30th, 2016. The winner will be notified in writing and announced publicly in November 2016.
