The Applied Ecology or Environmental Studies award is offered to a Canadian student entering the final year of undergraduate study in this course at a college or university in the Province of Ontario.
We use the term ‘applied ecology and environmental studies’ to include the study of the application of ecological principles to the solution of problems arising from man’s impact on the landscape, including agriculture, the management of renewable and non-renewable resources, development programs and pollution.
The Applied Ecology or Environmental Studies bursary is awarded on even years (2012 / 2014 / 2016).
The recipient is selected by the IODE Ontario Education Committee. Their decision will be based on both academic excellence and need.
