Serge Eremenko Music Award
Established through the Ukrainian Music Society of Albert (UMSA), in commemoration of the life of Serge Eremenko, one of the founders and a life-long member of the organization. UMSA is dedicated to promoting the awareness and development of Ukrainian music in Alberta.
Criteria
This award is available annually to any qualified applicant (individual or group) who is planning to pursue further studies in the field of Ukrainian music.
Courses of study or workshops, either in progress or recently completed, will be considered.
Applicants must submit a written description of the course of study or workshop, along with an explanation of how the course or workshop will help the applicant in promoting the awareness and development of Ukrainian music in Alberta. The application should be approximately one page in length, and may include information about the applicant’s past accomplishments and experiences. Limit of one submission per applicant.

Selection of Award
A selection committee will choose the recipient for award. If there is no qualified applicant in any one year, the award will not be given for that year. The successful applicant will be notified via mail. Appeals will be not considered, as the committee selections are final.
Deadline
Applications must be received by November 30, 2014 (the award recipient will be notified the following spring). Submissions must reach URDC on or before the deadline date.
