The Financial Management Institute (FMI) of Canada’s Ontario Chapter is offering their annual initiative aimed at strengthening ties between public sector financial management and academic programs across the province.

Eligibility Information

• Open to students currently enrolled in accounting, finance or business programs at a recognized Ontario college or university.
• Show an interest in working in financial management within the public sector upon graduation.
• Holding a co-op position or internship in such a position would be a plus.

Application procedure

 Student must submit the following:

• 500 word essay on topic chosen by the FMI Ontario Scholarship Committee each year. 
• Current resume detailing academic and professional history including volunteer and extra-curricular activities.
• Current academic transcript dated between March 1 and April 30 of this year.
• Two references (one from a current fmi*igf member if possible).

Evaluation Criteria

• GPA/Average (across all years and courses, not just the past year or just accounting courses)
• Quality of reference letters
• Quality of essay
• Professional experience (co-ops, internships, etc)
• Involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteer activities, etc.
