The 2014 Schizophrenia Society of Ontario Scholarship Applications are now Available.

The Deadline for Submitting Applications is April 30, 2015.

The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO) is pleased to announce the 12th year of our Scholarship Program. There are three different categories of scholarship opportunities available to applicants:

1.For individuals living with schizophrenia or psychotic illnesses
Opening the door to educational opportunities allows individuals living with schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses to be able to realize their own individual potential, and acquire the educational and vocational skills necessary to reintegrate into society, secure jobs, and realize their dreams.

2.For individuals with a parent who is living with schizophrenia or psychotic illness
When individuals are faced with mental illnesses, SSO recognizes that their not the only ones who are affected, their families experience a range of different challenges as well as the community as a whole. Recognizing that an entire family is impacted by a diagnosis of mental illness, the challenges families face can make it difficult to provide the financial support required to pursue educational goals. Giving these individuals the support they need to move onto post-secondary education and into their careers of choice is incredibly valuable and undoubtedly makes a positive difference in their lives.

3.For all youth aged 16 - 25 who have made a difference in one or more of the following areas:

• Mental health and mental health awareness
• Helping to reduce stigma through education
