The Scholarship Fund
The Brantford Horticultural Society Scholarship Fund exists to provide support to individuals who
have enrolled in a qualifying Horticultural of Environmental Studies program. Our goal is to support
applicants who will take what they have learned in a Horticultural or Environmental Education back
to their homes, workplaces and communities.
What is a Brantford Horticultural Society Scholarship?
We grant partial tuition scholarships of $500.00 towards tuition fees. This will be paid directly to
your educating facility in your name.
What does Brantford Horticultural Society require to apply for this Scholarship?
You must have attended a Secondary High School program in Brantford or Brant County.
Your must be enrolled in a qualifying program of either Horticulture or Environmental Studies.
You must be enrolled, attending and in your second, third or final year, Masters courses, or a PHD
course.
What Does Brantford Horticultural Society Ask of Scholarship Recipients?
We may ask for your help to spread the word about the program you're attending, and post program,
we'll invite you to share a quotation or testimonial about your time at your chosen studies.
The successful applicant will be asked for a current photograph for Club newsletter publication.
When Will You Hear From Us?
Our Scholarship Committee meets April to October. Application deadline is March 31st.

How to Apply for this Scholarship
*Scholarship Application Form ( to include: List of extracurricular activities including volunteer work,
leadership positions, personal interests, and any work experience you have gained.)20%
*Supply a current set of School Transcripts 20%
*One Letter of Recommendation 10%
*Essay 50%
Your essay will consist of 500 to 1000 words. Choose one of the following:
1) How will your study of Horticulture (or Environmental Studies) contribute to your
immediate or long range career plans?
2) Why do you want to study Horticulture (or Environmental Studies)?
3) Briefly describe your long and short term goals and how they relate to your current course
of studies.
4) Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? And how do you intend to impact those
around you?
