Constable Chris Garrett died on May 15 th 2004. He was the first officer in the history of the Cobourg Police Services to die in the line of duty. The Rotary Club of Cobourg is honoured to provide this scholarship in Chris Garrett’s memory. It is their hope that this scholarship will help Cobourg students wishing to become law enforcement officers, attain the respect and admiration of their peers and the citizens theyserve that Constable Garrett enjoyed. ELIGIBILITY: Accepted into a Community College Police Foundations Program the September following the applicant’s graduation with the intention of pursuing a career in law enforcement.
