How to access Security by phone on campus
There are several ways in which you can access security on campus by a telephone:
Cellular phones:
For direct access to security from your cellular phone, please program 905.721.3211. To save time during an emergency situation, we suggest that this number be programmed into a 'speed dial' number so that you do not need to look the number up. This is easier, faster and safer than programming the security phone number and then the extension number.
Office phones:
From all internal campus telephones, dial extension 2400 to contact security.
Classroom phones:
During incidents or emergencies, classroom phones can be activated by picking up the handset, waiting for a dial tone and then pushing the 'emergency button'. They can also be activated by pushing the handsfree button, wait for a dial tone and then pushing the 'emergency button'. Either process will place you in direct contact with security.
Pay phones:
There are approximately 30 pay phones on campus. To access security, all campus pay phones are free-of-charge by dialing 905.721.2000 and then extension 2400.
